The article examines the issue of the relationship between CONI (the “Italian National Olympic Committee”) and sports federations, with reference to control and monitoring powers. In light of an examination of doctrine and case law, including European Union case law, on the point, as well as an analysis of the legal nature of sports federations, the contribution highlights the coordination problem that exists between these different bodies.
