The automation of administrative procedures, including the use of artificial intelligence, has long been a widely discussed topic in numerous European states. In the Slovak Republic, however, a thorough and systematic scholarly and professional debate on these issues has only emerged relatively recently. The aim of this article is to contribute to the emerging scholarly debate by presenting the current legal framework governing the automation of administrative proceedings in the Slovak Republic, viewed through the lens of existing and proposed legislation, as well as the key case law of the highest judicial authorities.
